From Orphans to Sons and Daughters.
Over 8 years ago, these words were uttered by a local government official in response to the first home started. As you will experience through the life-changing testimonies captured here, hundreds of Orphans folk have overcome their circumstances to achieve great success
Bringing Hope. Mending Hearts. Changing Lives.
At the age of 8, for years orphaned teens have been pushed out of the familiar confines of their orphanage, equipped with nothing more than the clothes they wear. Left defenseless and alone, these orphans and impoverished teens often fall pray to the predatory schemes of human traffickers.
Where hope, healing and community converge to create a sanctuary of safety.
At Other Parents Orphanage, our Children live in spacious family homes organized around a community green space. Each home at Other Parents Orphanage (OPO) is overseen by live-in house parents, who were once orphans themselves.

Welcome to Other Parents Orphanage Uganda

Other Parents Orphanage is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to rescuing, restoring, and empowering orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda and Congo.

Every child deserves a loving family, a safe home, and a future filled with hope. At Other Parents Orphanage, we are dedicated to rescuing vulnerable children, reuniting families, and restoring lives through love, care, and God’s grace.

Since 2018, we have walked alongside orphaned and abandoned children in Uganda, providing them with holistic care education, healthcare, nutrition, and safe shelter. But we don’t stop there.

We work tirelessly to reunite children with their families, empower single mothers and widows, support vulnerable communities, and train the next generation to be strong, independent, and full of faith.

Nutrition

We provide food distribution for vulnerable families. Through the generosity of our donors, each year we feed thousands of individuals in their time of need

Spiritual Development

Though all of our ministries strive to share Christ’s light in Word as well as in deed, some within our reach have a specific calling to preaching and evangelism. We want to help them share the Gospel however we can!

Providing essential medical care

Our Emergency Medical Care program provides immediate treatment to those in critical condition. Donations to our program cover the costs of medicine, surgeries, and hospital stays.

Clean Water supply

Our Clean Water program establishes clean water solutions in areas of need. Where water exists, we distribute water filters. For communities without close sources, we drill wells.
What we believe

Statement of Faith

Other Parents accepts the Bible, wholly and undivided, as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice; and for the purpose of maintaining spiritual unity adopts the following statement of fundamental truths:
  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  2.  We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that are saved to the resurrection of eternal life with Jesus Christ, and of unbelievers to eternal separation from God.
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

About Our Process

We take these teens from fragile souls, to leaders in their community.

Over the course of four years with The Other Parents Orphanage, teens in our program begin as orphans, experience the life-changing power of Jesus and the love of a family, and ultimately become missionaries to the same lonely, poverty-stricken villages from which they were rescued.

01
Orphans

At the age of 8, orphaned children are pushed out of the familiar confines of their orphanage. Left defenseless and alone, they often fall prey to the predatory schemes of human traffickers. It’s in these critical and dire moments of vulnerability that we intervene.

02
Sons & Daughters

At Other Parents Orphanage, our Children live in sizable family homes. Over time, our family-based housing model becomes a cornerstone, fostering a profound sense of security and consistency essential for navigating through past trauma, abuse and abandonment.

03
Missionaries

The incredible young men and women of The Other Parents Orphanage feed the homeless, visit orphans and bring the Gospel to the lonely and poverty ridden villages of Uganda. Their hands bring miracles, joy and love to the orphan living in their old orphanage.
